Hello! My name is Dana Khawaja, and I’m honored to be a part of the first ever UoBDMUN conference! I’m 18 years old, Palestinian, and majoring in Environmental Science and Sustainability as a freshman in AUS. I love to read classics, bake, watch movies, and discover new music in my free time. I’ve been passionately involved in MUN since my freshman year of high school and after countless conferences and experiences, I may proudly say MUN has molded me into a more confident, well-spoken, and ambitious person. Ultimately, I can’t wait to be chairing DISEC with one of my best friends Nareen, and we both can’t wait to meet our delegates and see all the debate and potential in store for this conference!!

Nareen Habibi is a 16 year old senior at Al Mawakeb School. She first reluctantly began her Model United Nations (MUN) journey in the eighth grade when her older sister encouraged her to join her school's MUN club. Nareen was initially overwhelmed with all the rules of procedure and wanted to drop out of MUN. However, she stayed and hoped that this hobby may be the one for her. And it was! The more Nareen attended MUN conferences, the more she fell in love with the art of debate and offering solutions to some of the world's most pressing issues to date. Now, with this one being her 15th conference, Nareen Habibi is more than elated to chair DISEC at the first edition of UofBDMUN with one of her dearest and closest friends, Dana Khawaja, whom she connected with through MUN. Nareen is more than elated to meet you all and wishes you a wonderful experience with MUN, whether it be your first conference, or your 20th!
